From 2 to 18 June, IED Madrid hosts the exhibition GENIUS LOCI, l’Umbria veste il mondo, an initiative promoted by Inedita, cultura & impresa in collaboration with IED Madrid as part of Umbria26. For the first time in the city, the exhibition brings together pieces and stories from three leading figures of Italian fashion: Brunello Cucinelli, Ellesse and Pino Lancetti.
The exhibition offers a journey through the creativity, entrepreneurship and cultural identity of Umbria through three key figures who have brought Italian design to the international stage. Their careers embody a vision of fashiondeeply connected to territory, artisanal excellence and a profoundly human approach to creation.
The initiative is part of Umbria26, an international project conceived to commemorate the eighth centenary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi. Inspired by his legacy, the programme explores values such as harmony, creativity, beauty and the connection between the spiritual and everyday life.
Palacio de Altamira will become the setting for a dialogue between culture and business, tradition and innovation, showcasing garments and materials that reveal how the spirit of Umbria has dressed the world and captivated both international high society and entire generations through sportswear and prêt-à-porter.
Alongside the exhibition, the round table And Leonardo Created Ellesse will take place on Friday 12 June at 6:00 pm, focusing on Leonardo Servadio, founder of the historic Italian sportswear brand. The event will feature Michela Angeletti, direct descendant of the Servadio family, and Luca Manfredi, director of the biopic on the designer, currently in production between Italy and Spain.
The exhibition will be open to the public free of charge. Prior registration will be required to attend the round table here.
