In addition to having their visual projects adorn the GoodNews shutters for a year, the winners will receive monetary compensation and a special prize to recognise their talent

United by a common purpose: caring for the planet, Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) will collaborate with Alpro and GoodNews in the second edition of Good Coffee for the Planet. An initiative accompanied by the power of art in activism and mobilisation to promote more responsible and environmentally-friendly consumption, in which food plays a fundamental role.

In the first edition, both companies enlisted the help of renowned graphic artists to get this message across. Now, to connect with younger generations and raise awareness among consumers on the need to prioritise plant-based alternatives when having a coffee, they have decided to broaden the experience and highlight emerging talent such as that of IED.

By way of an open contest on social networks and another closed competition for Visual Communication students from the Barcelona and Madrid schools, the companies will soon select a group of young designers to decorate the shutters of the GoodNews kiosks with their own creations that help to disseminate this message.

Specifically, the shutters of seven kiosks in Barcelona (Palau Robert, Balmes, Plaza Sarria, Glòries, Monumental, Gran de Gracia and Iradier) and three establishments in Madrid (Sevilla, Alcalá and Bravo Murillo) will be painted.

In addition to having their visual projects adorn the GoodNews shutters for a year, the winners will receive monetary compensation and a special prize to recognise their talent.

The shortlisted Street Art projects will be announced soon, and we will be closely following the night when the students paint the shutters.

Stay tuned!
