37 students from IED Milano have been selected to collaborate with Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) in the lead-up to the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, taking part in a unique professional experience at the heart of the Olympic organizational machine

From the classroom to the world’s most iconic sporting event. Thanks to this extraordinary opportunity, students will gain direct access to the world of international television production and large-scale event organization, working side by side with Olympic broadcasting professionals and acquiring concrete, highly specialized skills.

A Project Bridging Education and the Professional World

The origins of the project are explained by Stefano Carta, Deputy Academic Director of IED:

“Thanks to the collaboration between IED and Olympic Broadcasting Services, IED Milano students had the opportunity to follow a dedicated training program delivered directly by OBS staff. At the end of this pathway, they were able to apply to work in Olympic broadcasting activities.
This is not a simulation, but a real professional experience within one of the most complex production environments in the world: the Olympics.”

An experience that represents a true bridge between academic education and the professional world, in line with IED’s teaching approach, which is based on immersive learning and direct engagement with the creative industries.

The 37 selected students come from the following Bachelor's Programs:
Video Design, Media Design, Product Design, Communication Design, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing, Illustration, and Photography.

During the Games, they will be involved in various Olympic venues, contributing to production and support activities at some of the iconic locations of Milano Cortina 2026, including:

  • International Broadcast Center – Milan
  • Milan Ice Hockey Arena
  • Milan Speed Skating Stadium
  • Milan San Siro Olympic Stadium
  • Cortina Sliding Centre
  • Cortina Olympic and Paralympic Village
  • Anterselva Biathlon Arena
  • Stelvio Ski Centre
  • Tesero Cross-Country Skiing Stadium
  • Predazzo Ski Jumping Stadium
  • Livigno Aerial and Moguls Park
  • Livigno Snow Park

This experience is a concrete example of how IED prepares its students to face the real challenges of the creative industries and major international events, offering opportunities that go beyond the classroom and enable them to enter the professional world as active contributors.

A pathway that brings together talent, education, and vision, placing IED’s young creatives at the very heart of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games, thanks to the collaboration with Olympic Broadcasting Services.
