Briefly complex like shadows on the earth stems from a reflection on contemporary identity, constantly shaped by the flow of images and by the multiple representations of the self they generate. In this context, the individual is not understood as a stable unit, but as a fluid presence, composed of influences, gazes, experiences and continuous transformations. Identity is not a final condition to be achieved, but a temporary, living and mutable balance.
The project translates this research through the images of shadow and half-light, understood as sensitive projections of the self: unstable forms, amplified by the surrounding environment and by one’s own gaze as well as that of others. The collection expresses this multiplicity through asymmetries, contrasts between glossy and matte surfaces, fluid fabrics, layering and transparencies. Gathers, folds and fabric movements evoke an inner complexity in constant transformation, while glossy taffeta, matte velvet, chiffon and georgette create a dialogue between visible and invisible, presence and fading.
The thesis project guides students in the development of a complete fashion collection, transforming cultural and narrative research into a professional and sustainable product. Through artistic, social and stylistic references, each student develops an original concept that translates into material research, experimentation with fabrics, colours, prints and embroidery. The path leads to the creation of an 18-outfit collection, supported by physical and digital prototypes, photo shoots and communication tools, enhancing the entire creative and production process of the contemporary fashion designer.
