Through innovative spatial solutions, high-performance materials, and careful functional distribution, the project aims to create an environment that—while meeting the technical requirements of survival—evokes a sense of home.

In a future human presence on Mars, the quality of living spaces becomes crucial for the physical and psychological wellbeing of crews facing extreme conditions and long periods of isolation. The proposal focuses on the organization of the main residential modules of a Martian base, with particular attention to living quarters and hygiene facilities. These spaces are designed according to principles of functionality, efficiency, and sharing, to support cohabitation and reduce the stress of prolonged life in confined environments. The housing system is modular and flexible, ensuring comfort, safety, and long-term adaptability. The design frames living on Mars as a balance between survival needs and a human dimension, transforming an extreme setting into a welcoming, human-centered habitat.
