Developed in collaboration with Crivelli, this jewelry design project reinterprets romantic love through form, materials and craftsmanship, from fabric-covered structures to interlocking elements of gold and glass.
Moving beyond the idea of love as sacrifice or the loss of one's identity, Naked - The new romantic era explores what it means to build a relationship between two independent individuals. Developed by Riccardo Campari in collaboration with Crivelli, the thesis translates this vision of a New Romanticism into a creative investigation of jewelry, its forms and its materials.
The project unfolds through three different interpretations of romantic love. The first, Amore Romantico, draws on art, literature and classical ballet, resulting in richly embellished jewelry inspired by figures such as Cupid and Psyche and Odette. In Strati, the focus shifts to the emotional barriers we build in relationships. Metal structures, stretch tulle and fabrics treated with silicone rubber become a way to explore the delicate balance between protection and constraint.
The final collection, Nuovo Romanticismo, presents love as a connection between two people who retain their individuality. By experimenting with lampworked glass and incorporating it into gold structures, Riccardo designs jewelry in which contrasting materials support one another through carefully engineered interlocking elements, while maintaining their distinct identities.
Sketches, material experimentation and fashion shoots accompany the development of the collections, creating a visual narrative that connects jewelry, the body and the emotional dimensions of human relationships.
