Communication Design students at IED Roma created Sei Complice, a guerrilla marketing campaign that exposes the complicity of those who view and share revenge porn content.
In Italy, revenge porn affects millions of people, not only as victims, but also as active spectators. A significant portion of those who receive non-consensual intimate images are likely to share them again, contributing to the spread of digital violence. Sei Complice was conceived to intervene precisely on this blind spot: the responsibility of those who watch.
The students designed a guerrilla action across university areas in Rome, posting flyers with QR codes alongside provocative messages that hinted at access to “nudes” of ex-partners. The promise was deliberately deceptive: once scanned, the code leads to a video that exposes the act, confronting the viewer with the message that gives the campaign its name: Se guardi, sei complice (If you watch, you’re complicit.)
From the video, users are redirected to the project's official website and social channels, where they can find informative content, testimonies and resources aimed at combating digital violence and promoting responsible behaviour.
Sei Complice was awarded Silver in the Student No Profit category at the ADCI Awards 2025 and the ADCE Awards 2025.
