A reflection on the value of relationships and communities through art, performance, and shared practices

The project Teatro delle Relazioni explores the concept of community in its various meanings: community as a space of belonging that shapes our way of living and being together, but also as a practice of artistic creation that redefines new models of production and sharing.

The initiative is spread across two venues: an exhibition at the new visual arts hub of IED Firenze, located in the former Teatro dell’Oriuolo (November 7 – December 20, 2024), and a three-day series of performances in the spaces of Strozzina at Palazzo Strozzi (November 28 – 30, 2024), realized in collaboration with the Fondazione Hillary Merkus Recordati.

The project is co-produced by IED Firenze and Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi, marking the fourth year of collaboration between the two institutions. Coordinated by Daria Filardo (IED Firenze) and Martino Margheri (Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi), with curatorial contributions from the 2023/24 class of the Master in Curatorial Practice (Lidia Barca, Sofia Blanco Arreguin, Elisa Casari, Anthony DeMasi, Yu Dong, Juliet Agnes Gibbs, Emma Joanne Hughes, Natálie Koudelková, Alice Palmerini, Sara Piccioli, Livia Polacco, Erika Radonic, Savina Ražnatović, Silvia Russo, Lucía Sánchez Flores, Amanda Joy Smith, Szonja Hanna Szurop).

The exhibition is accompanied by a publication produced in collaboration with Kunstverein Publishing Milano.
