Social housing for LGBTQIA+ friendly community
WE.HOME originates as a place of encounter and connection in a context where many LGBTQIA+ people still face housing insecurity, isolation, and discrimination.
The building becomes an infrastructure capable of offering safety, stability, and new possibilities for connection, fostering relationships both among its residents and with the surrounding neighborhood.
Rooted in the urban fabric, this new space opens to the city through a public and always-active ground floor, while the residential areas, with controlled rents and participatory management, allow residents to actively contribute to community life.
Private and collective dimensions intertwine fluidly: individuals can live their spaces autonomously while also taking part in shared moments of sociality.
The project goes beyond simply providing housing, transforming the building into an active threshold for the neighborhood, an inclusive space that offers services, social support, and opportunities for encounter.
ABITARE CON CURA. Per un abitare collettivo e collaborativo a Torino is a project that explores new forms of shared living at the site of the former Superga, rethinking domestic space as a device of mutualism, relationships, and care. Under the guidance of Sex & the City (Azzurra Muzzonigro and Florencia Andreola), with the support of Renata Boeri, the students of the Master’s Program in Interior Design of IED Turin developed proposals capable of responding to contemporary social transformations.
