The Final Degree Project in Graphic Design by the student Julen Astorga reflects on the saturation of images in contemporary society and proposes a connection with silence as a remedy. ‘Yet’ seeks an antidote to the negative effects of this overstimulation, which has led to an increase in mental health disorders such as hyperactivity, anxiety and depression.
Through experimentation in a diversity of formats, ranging from performance to embroidery, technologies and languages, that connect my work with other rhythms and ways of observing the world, as well as the practice of design, this project positions itself on the side of the background rather than the figure, highlighting the importance of the process, the unfinished and distance. ‘Yet’ aims to give a voice to silence.
