On Saturday 11 April at 1 pm, the activity “Urban Picnic” will take place at Plaza de la Virreina, Barcelona. An open, participatory gathering forming part of the Barcelona 2026 World Capital of Architecture programme, it is developed within the European project Feed Your Future. Engaging Youth in Creative Climate Actions and is also included in the IED’s 60th anniversary activities · Plural Intelligences.
Framed around agri-food sustainability and its connection to the climate crisis, the event will transform public space into a setting for shared experiences, reflection and collective action, where local residents, organisations and community stakeholders will explore how sharing food in the city can become both a cultural and sustainable practice.
An initiative that brings together design, food reuse and the promotion of local, seasonal ingredients.
