Artificial Intelligence and collaborative Design: an open dialogue on visions, paths, and new perspectives.

AI is transforming the way we imagine, create and experience the world. But what are the right questions to ask? And how can we consciously design within increasingly complex scenarios?

On Tuesday 13 May, IED Roma Postgraduate School opens the dialogue with Complex Realities: a convivial moment around a central table, designed to encourage exchange between guests and audience.
At the centre of the discussion, the theme of Artificial Intelligence and its impact on creative processes, between opportunities, limits and new design possibilities

Special Guest of the event, Andrea Colamedici.

Philosopher, writer, director, trainer, and co-founder of Edizioni Tlön, Colamedici will open the discussion starting from Ipnocrazia, the book published in January 2025 under the fictional name Jianwei Xun, which turned out to be an experimental project on authorship and the power of narratives in the era of artificial intelligence.

The conversation will be kicked off with an introductory talk moderated by Alberto Iacovoni, Head of Postgraduate IED, which will then open up to a participatory discussion with all those present.

During the talk, some coordinators and lecturers from the Master Programs and Master of Arts will also take part as discussants, offering their perspectives on the role and impact of Artificial Intelligence within their respective fields of research and design.

Andrea Natella, coordinator of the Master in Communication. Unconventional Strategies, will reflect on the theme of truth-bending and narrative construction;
Laura Negrini, coordinator of the Master in Design for Children, will address the implications of AI in educational and pedagogical contexts;
Eliana Saracino, coordinator of the Master of Arts in Design for Public Spaces, will delve into the effects of Artificial Intelligence on public life and social interaction;
Franz Rosati, coordinator of the Master in Immersive Spaces, will explore the impact of AI on artistic production processes and creative experimentation.

During and after the meeting, an aperitif will offer the opportunity to continue the conversation in an informal way and to get to know the Postgraduate School's training offer more closely with the course coordinators, Master Programs and Master of Arts, in order to deepen approaches, contents and training perspectives in an informal and participative context.

An opportunity to share ideas, ask questions, get oriented and be inspired.

Because the future is built together, one conversation at a time.

Complex Realities is supported by Roma Future Week, the participatory event that brings innovation, technology, sustainability and new visions into the spotlight.
