IED Madrid is joining the MMMAD Festival 2026 by hosting the professional meetings at its IED Madrid Design District campus.
Under the theme “Terms of Use”, the MMMAD Festival 2026 brings together a range of artistic practices that explore how bodies, technologies and contemporary ecologies mutually shape one another within the complex systems we already inhabit.
MMMAD+ professional meetings x IED Madrid
As part of the 2026 edition, the MMMAD Festival is joining forces with IED Madrid to host the Professional Forum: Stage Technologies and Hybrid Practices on 20, 21 and 22 April.
A series of sessions dedicated to exploring the impact of emerging technologies on contemporary performing arts, a booming sector that is attracting ever-larger audiences.
Artists, technologists, researchers and cultural managers will share methodologies, experiences and models of collaboration that are redefining the relationship between body, stage and technology.
All sessions will be free to attend upon registration. The format will involve small groups of professionals (20–30 people) to encourage exchange through participatory methodologies.
The sessions will address issues such as collaboration between artists and developers, the international circulation of performing arts projects linked to digital technologies, new learning environments for the new media arts, and the emergence of hybrid bodies and robotic systems on the contemporary scene. Designed as spaces for open exchange, these meetings aim to forge connections between artistic communities, cultural institutions and educational settings, contributing to the development of a critical and collaborative ecosystem centred on creative technologies.
