Italo Petriccione and Silvio Soldini will be the featured guests in a new Special Lecture curated by OffiCine-IED and IED Cinema in collaboration with Nikon, titled "The Emotion of Light in Cinema."
The event will take place on Friday, October 24th at 6:00 PM at Circus Studio, during the Nikon | RED LIVE! event in Via Giovanni Enrico Pestalozzi 4, Milan.
What is the relationship between cinematography and directing? How much can light convey the emotional soul of a film?
Italo Petriccione and Silvio Soldini, two leading voices in contemporary Italian auteur cinema, will delve into these questions.
Petriccione, an award-winning director of photography (Mediterraneo, Puerto Escondido, The Return of Casanova, The Train of Children, among others), has worked with directors such as Gabriele Salvatores and Paolo Virzì, and is known for his poetic yet precise visual style.
Soldini, a director and screenwriter, has created works that have become part of Italy’s cinematic imagination (Bread and Tulips, Days and Clouds, The Hidden Color of Things, The Tasters), telling deeply human stories with authenticity and emotional nuance.
This Special Lecture is open to students and the public. Free entry with reservation required at: officine@ied.it
