Since 2007, the MARIO HERNÁNDEZ Award has been one of the most important creative awards in Colombia. An event that encourages the inventive capacity of the country's emerging talents by promoting in them the development of projects in which they can test the skills acquired during their time in their studies.

This initiative offers 16 years of permanent support for young Colombian creatives who participate in the award that consists of five categories: Product Design, Graphic Design, Audiovisual Design and Space Design.

The award winners will receive IED scholarships for 2023 summer courses at IED Spain campuses.

The Mario Hernández brand was founded in Bogotá in July 1978 and today it has become one of the most prominent brands in the region. In 1998, it launched its first butterfly-inspired collection, a concept that has remained an icon of the company to this day.

IED has been collaborating with this initiative for several years and recognizes the value of the young talents that participate and the contribution and impact of the award in the sector.

In addition to the scholarships awarded by IED, the winning projects may be exhibited in Spain, thanks to the IED LATAM Creative Talent Project, which aims to show the best of Latin American talent in Europe.
