From 10 to 22 October, the IED Madrid Fashion Director brings talks and workshops to Mexico's top design events.
Next October, the IED team will travel to México together with Federico Antelo, textile designer and director of the IED Madrid School of Fashion
During his visit, Federico Antelo will give a series of workshops and lectures with partner organizations in México. From October 10 th to 22 nd, he will visit some of the country's most renowned universities offering programs related to the creative industries sector.
Among the main activities scheduled are:
Encuentro Creativo - From October 10th to 22nd
Sixth edition of this event, an initiative that brings Italy and México together to promote cultural and creative exchange. Federico will participate in the Open Day, as a speaker on the panel The Fashion Narrative: How to Communicate Identity, Tradition and Avant-Garde Today.
In addition, during the Open Day, Federico will lead a workshop on the Creative and Design Process – Strategies for Energization.
Design Week Mexico - Diseño Contenido – from October 10th to 11st
This year, IED will participate in Diseño Contenido a platform that promotes experimentation, exhibition and commercialization of contemporary design in Mexico, creating a meeting space between designers, studios, emerging brands and the public interested in design as a cultural and economic driver.
Hilos México-Guadalajara 2026 – October 15th
A space where sustainable fashion comes to life, strengthening local entrepreneurship and creating experiences that inspire a more conscious way of creating, learning and consuming.
23rd International Congress "Designing for Humanity / Nearshoring" - From October 20th to 22nd, organized by the Faculty of Design of Universidad Anáhuac
For more than two decades, this congress has been a space for dialogue, learning and inspiration, bringing together prominent representatives of design thinking, creativity and innovation at an international level. On this occasion, it proposes opening a critical and proactive reflection on the role of design in the era of Nearshoring and exploring how design can contribute to the construction of a new productive geography that balances global competitiveness with local development, technological innovation with the dignity of work, and industrial efficiency with environmental sustainability.
During these events, you will have the opportunity to learn about IED, its educational offerings and its campuses in Spain and Italy. You will also be able to ask questions related to study plans, costs, scholarships, admission requirements, discounts and promotions.
Director of the School of Fashion and lecturer at IED Madrid, Federico Antelo is a visual artist and textile and fashion accessories designer.
A graduate of the “Prilidiano Pueyrredón” National School of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2015, he founded his art and textile design studio, while continuing his teaching career at IED Madrid, after having worked at the University of Buenos Aires. Focused on artisanal printing and the creation of unique textile pieces, his current project is conceived as an alternative and complementary field of action to his pictorial work, generating new aesthetic possibilities derived from the use of techniques specific to the language of textiles, with the intention of opening spaces for exploration, dialogue and fusion between art and design.
