IED and Design Thinkers Group Australia present the Global Goals Jam Geelong 2021, a three-day event where people work together on local challenges related to the UNDP Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s).

The event focus on
GOAL 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
GOAL 10: Reduced Inequality
GOAL 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities

The programme include a panel discussion followed by GGJ design sprints:

In conversation with:

Marika Aakesson, Product Designer, teacher in Design for Sustainable Development and coordinator of the Product Design programs at the IED in Rome. Coach at Global Goals Jam Milan and Global Goals Jam Rome. Executive member of the board at ADI, the Italian design association.

Melanie Rayment, Strategist, social designer, researcher and human-centred design specialist who focuses on holistic approaches to improving people’s lives now and into the future.

Marco Ricchetti, Economist, co-founder of Blumine, a consultancy firm in sustainability. Currently works in U.N. fashion sustainability projects. He has published essays on sustainable supply chains, sustainable materials and circular models in the fashion business.

Introduction by Mark Watson, Managing Partner with the Service Design and Innovation agency DesignThinkers Group based in Amsterdam. Mark has a wealth of Design Knowledge across Product, Systems, Service and Experience Design.

GGJ DESIGN SPRINTS
Saturday 20 March, 9,00 am - 5,00 pm (GMT+11)
Sunday 21 March, 9,00 am - 5,00 pm (GMT+11 )

Using a tailored toolkit, we will create impactful submission-ready pitches using design thinking methodologies. This jam will guide participants through the unknown to cement a solid path forward to local solutions to wicked problems.

The sprints will be managed by Mark Watson, Managing Partner with the Service Design and Innovation agency DesignThinkers Group based in Amsterdam. Mark has a wealth of Design Knowledge across Product, Systems, Service and Experience Design.
