Leonardo Bigazzi at Salotto NYC for “Translating Art into Cinema”

On September 16, Leonardo Bigazzi was a guest at Salotto NYC in Brooklyn for Translating Art into Cinema, a public conversation exploring the connections between the languages of contemporary art and cinema.
Together with artist duo MASBEDO and Beatrice Bulgari, Bigazzi took part in a conversation held on the occasion of the US release of ARSA, exploring how the practices and languages of visual art can intersect with filmmaking and cinematic storytelling.
The event took place at Salotto NYC, a creative hub in Brooklyn that is also home to Casa IED New York. Created through a collaboration between IED and Salotto, Casa IED is a space dedicated to cultural exchange and to fostering connections among designers, professionals and creative communities through talks, panels, lectures and workshops.
Leonardo Bigazzi is a Florence-based curator and producer of artists’ films. He is currently a curator at Fondazione In Between Art Film, where he has co-curated, among others, the exhibitions Penumbra (2022) and Nebula (2024), presented on the occasion of the Venice Art Biennale. Since 2008, he has also been a curator at Lo schermo dell’arte and, since 2012, founder and curator of VISIO – European Programme on Artists’ Moving Images. Throughout his career, he has commissioned and produced over thirty artists’ films. At IED Firenze, he teaches on the Master in Curatorial Practice.
