The portfolio as a first project: feedback and guidance toward undergraduate and postgraduate study
In its 60th anniversary year, IED hosts the Milan edition of National Portfolio Day, the international event for anyone who wants to study or specialize in art, design, fashion and visual communication.
At IED Teatro, students and aspiring creatives present their portfolios to representatives of IED, Goldsmiths, University of London, New York Academy of Art, Paris College of Art, Parsons School of Design and Parsons Paris at The New School, School of Visual Arts and University of the Arts London, and receive individual, face-to-face feedback.
At creative schools, the portfolio is the key to admission: it reveals a way of thinking, experimenting and turning an idea into a project. It does not need to be perfect: works in progress and sketchbooks show a method too.
For high school students, it is a chance to learn what schools look for in a first portfolio and how to navigate undergraduate programs. For those completing a Bachelor's degree, it is the moment to sharpen how they present their work ahead of a Master's application.
Free admission – no registration required. Bring your portfolio.
