Atlas addresses one of the most critical aspects of life on the Moon: physical exercise in microgravity, which leads to significant loss of bone density and muscle mass.
The project transforms the two mandatory daily hours of training for technicians and tourists into an engaging and motivating experience, where fun and interaction foster consistency and bodily awareness. The Atlas experience is structured in three phases: warm-up, training, and cool-down. The warm-up focuses on the core and includes a climbing wall that highlights movement dynamics under gravity equal to one sixth of Earth’s. The training phase offers stations designed to effectively stimulate muscles, integrated with VR headsets providing personalized workouts and interactive games. The route concludes with a cool-down and stretching phase in a shared space dedicated to comfort, relaxation, and wellbeing. Atlas redefines lunar training as an immersive and social experience, turning a physiological necessity into a moment of enjoyment and improving quality of life in space.
