A car that restores centrality to the technical gesture of the driver, challenging automation to celebrate the physical and mental mastery of driving.

"Icaro" was created to redefine the sports car, bringing the driver's gesture back to the center and reducing the weight of technology. The inspiration comes from sports where the body drives, such as running and calisthenics, and from disciplines in which the machine prolongs human action, such as sailing and paracycling.

Every detail enhances the movement: transparent surfaces and visible mechanisms transform driving into physical expression. Compact and essential, Icaro uses robust and lightweight materials for safety and practicality. The wings, inspired by ultralights, are mechanical and offer direct feedback via levers and pulleys.

Icaro is more than a project: it is an idea.

The wings, a symbol of dream and rebellion, represent the tension upwards. Every curve is chosen, every movement will. Only those who dare to fly can touch the sky.

With the aim of exploring the future of sports cars, Dallara invited students in Transportation Design to reinterpret their identity. The project had to enhance the role of the driver, keeping the combustion engine as the protagonist, and focus on design, aerodynamics and performance.  The answer was a stylistic vision that combines lightness, efficiency and simplicity, distinctive traits of Dallara's DNA. The concepts range from the most conservative road hypotheses to extreme Hypercars, always maintaining a strong consistency with the soul of the brand.
