A caring gaze upon the pain of bodies affected by women’s health conditions and invisible illnesses.

Sometimes the pain is a prick; sometimes a sharp pulse; sometimes an absence. Many women live with it in silence. When they seek help, they often learn there is no cure for what they face. The World Health Organization estimates that about 10% of women worldwide experience reproductive health conditions. Yet these conditions remain overlooked, deepening isolation in a society that struggles to understand or comfort them.

Intimate space draws from the voices of women coping with debilitating symptoms, giving form to pain through a symbolic, restrained, and respectful visual language offering empathy and protection.

The Searchlights is the second chapter of Ti vorrei dire, a three-year project developed in collaboration with Gallerie d'Italia - Torino, a part of Intesa Sanpaolo. The projects map out the urgencies of our time through the perspective of a new generation. Ecological and climate crises, dynamics of power and representation, identity, mental health, precarity, memory and narratives of the present run through the works, shaping a collective account that restores complexity to what is too often reduced to a label.
