The project defines a new approach to the urban car based on modularity

The students designed a modular vehicle designed for a young and dynamic target audience, based on flexibility and personalization.

The car can be transformed into different configurations, like camper or MPV, evolving over time together with its user.

The project also introduces a circular economy model, with components that can be purchased or rented, new or refurbished, and a strong focus on sustainability through the use of materials such as bioplastics and natural fibers.

The base model remains affordable, while additional customizations are available online.

Developed within the Transportation Design course of IED Torino, the project originates from a FIAT brief inviting students to imagine innovative city cars as interpretations of the future of urban mobility, starting from the brand’s core values: compactness, strong personality, and an unmistakable DNA, in dialogue between heritage and innovation.

The selected concepts were exhibited in FIAT’s “Ciao Futuro!” space at Milan Design Week 2026, as part of an immersive journey dedicated to the evolution of mobility and urban life.
