A game inspired by the marine world that uses Mars’ reduced gravity to create new dynamics, combining elements of terrestrial sports with a completely new experience.
Since antiquity, play has played a central role in cognitive development and collective life. In an extreme context like Mars, recreational activity becomes an essential tool for strengthening crew bonds, reducing stress, and improving wellbeing and productivity. The project includes an inflatable field, protective suits, and a ball, integrated with a dedicated rules system. The ground amplifies movement, enabling jumps and acrobatics safely, while analog mechanisms allow the field to react to players’ actions, simulating waves and currents. Technologies embedded in the field, suits, and ball generate immersive light scenographies, evoking an underwater atmosphere. Through teamwork, sensory wonder, and fun, Marsplash contributes to a new culture of play beyond Earth, easing the hardships of life on Mars and reinforcing its collective dimension.
