An educational game that uses small mirrors to reveal hidden shapes and develop observation and imagination, designed by Valeria Robbe in collaboration with Lisciani Giochi.

During the Educational Games course, led by Irene Guerrieri, students from the Master's Program in Design for Children work on a brief developed in collaboration with Lisciani Giochi, focused on designing an educational game from concept to prototype. Game mechanics, learning objectives, components, visual identity and usability become part of a single design process, bringing together pedagogical research and the development of a product for children.

Among the proposals, Valeria Robbe designs Occhio Specchio, a game for children aged eight and up that uses small mirrors to reveal hidden images within an urban landscape. By moving and positioning the mirror, players explore the illustrations to discover and reconstruct shapes, challenging their observation skills, speed and imagination. The game can be played individually or in teams, allowing for different forms of interaction and shared play.

Valeria structures the game around five levels of difficulty, creating a progression from figurative elements to geometric shapes and abstract patterns. She also introduces customisable cards that allow players to create new shapes and add their own discoveries to the game. Occhio Specchio thus becomes an open-ended system that extends beyond the configurations designed by its creator, leaving room for exploration and for players to continuously expand its rules and content.
