A five-movement audiovisual EP exploring the tension between nature and technology through a blend of acoustic and electronic sounds, developed as part of SONOSOUND - IED x Pyteca+.

Phýsis is the thesis project of Adriano Tullio, a Sound Design student at IED Roma. Created as part of SONOSOUND - IED x Pyteca+, the project stems from a collaboration in which students were invited to produce original EPs for an electronic music compilation to be released on the digital platforms and channels of Pyteca+ sound studio.

Structured in five movements, Adriano's work explores the relationship between nature and technology, presenting the digital world not as a threat to the natural one, but as a force that drives its transformation. His compositions are built around the contrast between acoustic instruments and electronic sounds: piano, guitar and violin express the fragility and resilience of nature, while bass, synthesizers and electronic drums embody the disruptive power of technology.

The music unfolds as a process of transformation, beginning with a sense of harmony interrupted by subtle glitches. As electronic sounds gradually take over, acoustic elements push back, before the two ultimately merge into a new sonic landscape. Adriano carries this concept through to the visual elements, drawing on cyber-minimalist aesthetics to reflect the changing dynamics of the music. Together, sound and imagery give shape to a “New Nature”, where the organic and the digital find a new balance through conflict and transformation.
