In a world dominated by technology and constant connectivity, the need for ritual does not disappear, but evolves. The Gate explores the role of sound as a tool for connection, experience, and identity-building, reinterpreting jewellery as a device capable of activating new relationships between body, perception, and matter.
The research takes shape through the study of sound waves, cymatics, and immersive installations, investigating how frequencies and vibrations shape space and influence human experience. From these insights emerge three collections in which forms, textures, and materials translate the invisible energy of sound into tangible geometries, transforming jewellery into a sensitive extension of the body.
Just as sound vibrations are capable of generating forms within matter, jewellery becomes a means of making invisible connections visible. An object that transcends its ornamental function to create contemporary rituals, where aesthetics, technology, and sensory experience converge into a single unified experience.
Vhernier opens its aesthetic universe to students, inviting them to engage with the brand’s deepest values and transform them into original visions. The thesis brief explored the concept of “Elsewhere”: a mental and creative space to be reinterpreted through jewellery and accessories, shaping an idea of beauty capable of surprising.
