Honourable Mention Best Thesis Award Business Design 2025

A SaaS digital carbon management platform designed to align corporate sustainability goals with employee engagement. The project presents a scalable, business-oriented approach to climate action and supports the transition towards a net-zero emissions economy.

‘Virtual Garden’ addresses key market failures, such as scepticism towards carbon offsetting, low return on investment (ROI) for green initiatives, and the complexity of decarbonisation strategies. To this aim, it uses incentive-based methods, such as tokenised rewards and brand partnerships, to drive employee engagement.

The study of the thesis highlights how integrating sustainability into HR and regulatory compliance operations can improve employee retention and stakeholder trust. In short, the project presents a scalable, business-oriented approach to climate action and supports the transition towards a net-zero emissions economy.
