The selected designers have taken part in an intensive two-week programme in London, linked to the Cristóbal Balenciaga Museum's Transmissions project

The fourth-year student, Amaia Beldarrain, and the recent graduates of the Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design, Gabriel Asián, Jon Unzueta, Sandra Herrero, Zuriñe Berrueta and Amaia Beldarrain from IED Kunsthal Bilbao, and Peio Santisteban and Joane de la Quintana from IED Madrid, have been selected to attend a training programme at Central Saint Martins (London), thanks to scholarships provided by BBK and Bilbao International Art & Fashion (BIAAF).

Over the course of two weeks, they worked on personal projects linked to Transmissions, an educational initiative by the Cristóbal Balenciaga Museum that connects the designer's legacy with new generations of fashion designers. The programme covered different stages of the creative process, from research and creative direction to experimenting with volume, pattern cutting and the technical development of garments.

Together, the two campuses account for seven fashion design graduates from the IED network who have been awarded these scholarships.

The participation of these alumni also reflects the relationship between IED Kunsthal Bilbao and BIAAF, which helps create new opportunities for training and international exposure for emerging basque talent.
