The 55th edition of the ADG Laus Graphic Design and Visual Communication Awards has now entered the final stretch with the announcement of the projects selected to be in the running to win one of the most prestigious awards in the field of graphic design in Spain.

Four entries by IED Barcelona students and alumni have been shortlisted, three in the Audiovisual category and one in the Student Contribution category:

  • ‘Ugly Manifesto’ by Maria Terekhova, fourth-year Motion Graphics and Video student Audiovisual category (Free Work)
  • 'Tamaq' by Tomiris Aimaganbetova, Motion Graphics and Video graduate (2024)   Audiovisual category (Final Degree Project)
  • Force Majeure by Michele El Khoury, Motion Graphics and Video graduate (2024)   Audiovisual category (Final Degree Project)
  • ‘Voces Encendidas’ by Charlotte Páez Bastardo, Graphic Design graduate (2024) — Student Contribution category (Final Degree Project)

With regard to this last category, Mery Glez, Head of Visual Arts School at IED Barcelona, highlights that it is a distinction for added value beyond the design itself: “This prize is awarded to projects that, in addition to their creative and technical qualities, stand out for their social, cultural or educational contributions. They are works that ‘contribute’ something significant to society, because of their approach, their subject matter, or their potential impact.”

The winning projects of the ADG Laus Graphic Design and Visual Communication Awards will be revealed at the ADG Laus Night ceremony, which will take place on 19 June at Disseny Hub Barcelona.
