A common philosophy and vision: a new synergistic alliance to support shared educational programmes, student mobility and research.

The IED Group has entered into a partnership with the University of the Arts London (UAL), the world-renowned institution consisting of six prestigious colleges: Central Saint Martins, London College of Communication, London College of Fashion, Wimbledon College of Arts, Chelsea College of Arts, and Camberwell College of Arts.

This agreement promotes mutual growth and development through initiatives regarding educational offerings, student mobility, faculty members, and the exchange of documents and research materials in common academic circles. IED Group’s and UAL’s partnership underscores their shared commitment to pedagogical values and contemporary approach through art and design. However, it’s not entirely new.

The two institutions had already entered into an agreement with the Chelsea College of Arts during the 2014-2015 academic year as part of the mobility and international cooperation projects promoted by the Erasmus programme. During that stage, the collaboration focused on Interior Design courses. The flow of students between IED and UAL and the quality of the participants involved grew over the subsequent years, leading UAL to consider extending the agreement to the Camberwell College of Arts and increase student mobility to and from Interior Design and Product Design courses, and to the London College of Fashion for mobility in the fashion area.

Today, both institutions enhance each other’s expertise, aiming to build high-profile educational experiences to prepare students for global challenges. Over the next few months, the focus will be on virtual exchange projects promoting innovative and accessible international experiences for students who can’t physically travel or don’t have the financial resources to do so.
