The student designed his poster with the aid of AI content generation algorithms

“Human/AI Design Challenge”, a visual arts competition aimed at design students worldwide, organised by the Barcelona Centre de Disseny and CASA SEAT as part of Barcelona Design Week, now has a winner: Lluís La Hoz from IED Barcelona.

The 3rd year Graphic Design student presented an original poster entitled “Creativity's new partner” to take up the challenge posed by the competition: reflecting on how to balance the relationship between human creative thinking and artificial intelligence by using AI content generation algorithms in order to do this.

The poster shows a doll – a toy baby – possessing all the skills of this new technology, which is currently in its first stage of development.

The jury gave the prize to La Hoz’s entry among more than 150 designs from a variety of countries for its aesthetic and conceptual quality, creativity and innovation in the use of AI and its relevance and impact on the design sector.

The winning poster, as well as the remaining the finalists – among which were the works of Yasmin Barry-Djemal, from 3rd year Graphic Design, and Fabienne Bjercke, from 3rd year Motion Graphics – will be on display at CASA SEAT (Passeig de Gràcia 109) until 28 October.

Congratulations!
