IED Torino at Torino Art Week with a series of collaborations and projects involving students from different courses, from Photography to Communication Design.
A programme that celebrates cross-disciplinary exchange, experimentation and direct engagement with the world of contemporary art, turning the event into a hands-on learning experience.
The first initiative involves Casa Goya, a project by Greg Goya conceived as an artist residency and presented during Torino Art Week as an opportunity to launch the project.
Casa Goya will be hosted at Villa San Quirico in Turin and will revolve around two dimensions. On the one hand, Untold, an exhibition dedicated to “things left unsaid”, will be open to the public. On the other, a more dynamic programme will bring artists into the space throughout the day to create performances and interventions spanning painting, sculpture and music.
The project is based on the idea of “making art for the sake of art”, creating an environment where different disciplines and forms of expression can coexist.
IED students will take part in a workshop with Stefano Seletti on Friday 30 October, focused on developing a capsule collection, and will also volunteer throughout the event.

The collaboration with APART Fair, an art and antiques fair bringing together fine art, archaeology and artefacts from different continents alongside contemporary influences, involves nine third-year students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Photography, coordinated by lecturer Antonio La Grotta, as part of the photography competition “A New Generation of Photographers and Antiques”.
The project invites students to explore the fair and the world of antiques through photography, documenting not only the works on display but also the spaces, exhibitors and relationships between artworks and the public. Their work includes documenting the exhibition setup, taking portraits of exhibitors, interpreting artworks and antiques, and exploring possible connections between historical pieces and contemporary audiences.
The students’ involvement begins on 27 October, during the final stages of the exhibition setup and the press conference, continues with the opening on 28 October, and runs throughout the fair’s opening days, from 29 to 31 October. Each student will document their experience daily and submit a selection of ten photographs taken that day.
The project will conclude on 1 November with the award ceremony for the winning entries. The prize will be named in memory of Marco Guastella.
The project will also receive editorial coverage through Repubblica.it and La Repubblica.

The collaboration with Phonetics offers IED students another opportunity for direct, practical learning. Phonetics is a three-day international festival dedicated to contemporary art publishing and interdisciplinary artistic practices, hosted at Paint It Black, in the former Chimica Strola factory on Via Buscalioni, in Turin’s Aurora district. The programme brings together Italian and international publishers and combines a publishing fair with talks, readings, listening sessions, performances and screenings.
The festival will take place from 30 October to 1 November, with the fair open from 11 am to 9 pm and a wider programme running until 1 am. Highlights include a performance by Riccardo Sinigaglia, a reading by P. Staff, and a performance by Ellen Arkbro and Judith Hamann.
IED’s involvement has a strong educational focus. Students will have the opportunity to engage with an international publishing festival and real professional practices, supporting the team throughout the different stages of the project. Following training on the international independent publishing market, they will assist participating publishers, contribute to exhibition design and take part in communication activities.

Casa YSSA, an initiative developed in collaboration between Yssa Factory and Paratissima, will involve IED students, particularly second-year Communication Design students, in producing video content and interviews.
Students will be asked to develop an editorial format to tell the stories of the artists, guests and activities taking place at Casa YSSA during the event.
The project will also feature a dedicated interview corner, conceived as a meeting point for artists and the public, offering a space for the voices and stories of the event’s protagonists.
