His talk, entitled “Inclusivity and beauty: an inward look”, analysed the case study of an Interdisciplinary Project as an example of a good teaching practice

IED has participated once again this year in Campus de les Arts. Raffaella Perrone, Director of the Design Department at the Barcelona school, returned to collaborate with the Teacher Training Working Group of this National Council for Culture and Arts (CoNCA) programme to strengthen higher level arts education by organising its second conference, entitled “Rebel Learning: Training Challenges and Adapting to Complexity in Higher Arts Education”.

Held on 27 and 28 October at the Catalonia College of Music (ESMUC), the conference aimed to discuss innovative teaching methodologies and strategies in addition to new ways of relating to students. It did so on the basis of specific cases, such as the one presented by IED teacher and interior designer David Ortega. He gave a talk entitled “Inclusivity and beauty: an inward look” that examined the case study of an Interdisciplinary Project as an example of a good teaching practice.

Campus de les Arts is a platform that has brought together several universities and 19 centres of university or higher artistic education in Catalonia since early 2019 under the coordination of the University of Barcelona. The IED is a member of the platform, as it is of its Teacher Training Committee, Research and Knowledge Transfer Committees, with Eduard Castañé, Deputy Director of IED, and Online Teaching Committee, with Marina Ojan, Director of the Master’s Department.
