Held on 29 January, the third edition of the Portfolio Review Day dedicated to the Visual Arts at IED Barcelona showcased the most outstanding work by final-year students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Higher Artistic Education in Graphic Design, Motion Graphics and Video and, for the first time, from the Advertising specialisation, produced throughout their years of training at the school.
This annual academic activity therefore offered an extensive, varied and vibrant showcase of more than one hundred projects, revealing the personal vision and distinctive style of a new generation of creative talent. In addition to other members of the IED community, the event was attended by professionals from the design sector, who were able to discover the students’ portfolios first-hand ahead of their transition into the professional world.
Among other works, produced individually or in groups, the exhibition featured UX/UI proposals aimed at re-establishing a connection with nature through the virtual world, as well as projects that use the graphic universe as a lever for social activism. It also included personal branding creations at the intersection of the physical and digital realms, editorial, illustration and art direction projects, the design of new original typefaces, the development of graphic identities for packaging, and animated short films using rotoscoping that reflect on time and ephemerality.
