TDC 71: The Power of Typography Arrives at IED Barcelona

170 winning projects from the 71st edition of the Type Directors Club’s annual international competition arrived at IED Barcelona on 25 February

Following its display at IED Kunsthal Bilbao, and until 25 March – when it will move on to IED Madrid – the exhibition will offer a comprehensive overview of the very best in typography, calligraphy and lettering, with applications in visual identity, editorial design and applied graphics.

The works are presented across three categories (Communication Design, Type Design and Lettering) and include selections of Judge’s Choice entries recognised for their technical excellence, innovation and cultural relevance.

Since 1946, the Type Directors Club has established itself as one of the most prestigious international platforms dedicated to typographic excellence, a critical and expressive discipline that each year showcases its full power in a travelling exhibition presented in cities around the world.
