The meeting of innovation and style: transforming store design with GMT and FIRMA

On March 11th, students from the Master in Interior Design had the opportunity to meet with GMT Great Masters of Time, a leading company in the independent high-end watch and jewelry sector based in the Fashion District of Milan. During the briefing, GMT Great Masters of Time shared its innovative vision for revolutionizing the visual and functional experience of store, aiming to enhance the interaction with the public through design.
GMT Great Masters of Time, with its expertise in the industry, presented a project to evolve the traditional watch display, asking the young designers to come up with solutions that are not only practical and functional but also able to meet the needs of a sophisticated and eclectic clientele. With a selection that includes 16 watch brands and 5 jewelry brands, the company emphasized the importance of creating a unique shopping experience that highlights values such as transparency, lightness, and avant-garde design.
The project aims to create modern and elegant boutique that require no annual maintenance, where products can be displayed in an innovative way. GMT’s vision for its store is to transform the shopping experience into an exclusive moment, combining aesthetics and functionality through solutions that reflect the brand’s elegance and innovation.
In this context, FIRMA, the course partner, will support the students in the final part of the project, providing technical expertise in the innovative use of engineering polymers, plexiglass, and technopolymers. FIRMA will help enhance the appearance and functionality of the spaces through the use of transparent materials that interact uniquely with light, bringing a touch of modernity and innovation.
