The selection of workshops includes a collective bread ritual, a creative writing battle, an alternative sports workshop, and an upcycling laboratory

Designed by IED Milan Master of Arts School, the Workshops program Design Togetherness during The Glitch Camp 2025 proposes a lively programme that will alternate between workshops, sports and wellness activities, moments of conviviality and cultural encounters, offering an educational and interdisciplinary experience for both campers and the general public.

The event represents a unique opportunity for students to concretely apply the design approach of Design X Commons, the narrative that characterises all of IED's Masters of Arts, to the camping project. It is a concrete opportunity to make design more accessible, offering participants a place in which to experiment, compare, learn, and build professional and personal connections.

·       Collective Bread Ritual

Workshop by Terzo Paesaggio with MadreProject, Scuola del Pane e dei Luoghi

8 April - 10 am

Bread is a polysemic subject, it opens up conversations about the food system, ecology, social justice, and ultimately how we co-inhabit the Earth. Take part in this workshop to create this big Collective Bread Ritual along with bread philosopher Davide Longoni from Panificio Davide Longoni, Daleska Alantara di Forno di idee and Andrea Flaviani and Yan de Guardia di In Levain We Trust.

“Bread encompasses the entire history of mankind: from the distant day when our ancestors marvelled at the symmetry of the grains on the ear, to the present day, when billions of human beings still go hungry and dream of bread, while others consume it and waste it in abundance”.  Predrag Matvejević

  • Extreme Writing. Il ring di scrittura

Workshop by Centro Formazione Supereroi

A creative writing showdown in three rounds in which the members of two teams, made up of students, compete, assisted by their coaches, in literary improvisation tests related to the world of design (visual storytelling, design poetics).

Literary improvisation becomes a public challenge, a boxing tournament in which the contenders try to get the better of their opponents through creativity, fresh ideas and mastery of the medium of writing.

  • Beyond Competition: Playing for Connection

Workshop by Gabriel Fontana

In a time of great division, where capitalist discourse increasingly promotes competition and toxic masculinity, Gabriel Fontana uses design as a tool to rethink how we relate to each other. What if sports weren’t about winning or losing, but about rethinking how we relate to one another?

Join us for an alternative sports workshop that shifts the focus from competition to social connection and solidarity. Through creating new ways to engage with sports, this workshop invites participants to question norms of identity, community, and belonging.

We’ll Play: Multiform. In this unique game, teams are constantly shifting. By removing fixed alliances, Multiform challenges traditional divisions and invites players to rethink who is “us” and who is “them.” It’s a fun, thought-provoking way to explore social dynamics through play.

  • Atelier Upcycling

Workshop by Ferrino Lab in collaboration with Mental Athletic

12 April - 10 am to 5 pm

The laboratory starts from the concept of repair and upcycle: lengthening the life cycle of products, avoiding waste and unused materials, and focusing on the reuse and transformation of waste materials and used products into new functional, sustainable and creative items.

During the morning, an open doors atelier will be installed for the glitchers, open from 10 am to 1 pm, where campers can bring their designs beforehand and make them a reality or let their creativity flourish with the help of Ferrino's designers and the Master of Arts in Product Design students.

In the afternoon, from 2.30 pm until 6.30pm, Mental Athletic will propose some objects related to the sports activities with designer Bartolomeo Cevoli and along with Ferrino experts while encouraging participants to reflect on what functionality means today, not only in terms of performance but also related to usability.
