A mindful cultural and tourist experience that does not merely view places as mere backdrops, but delves into the stories and daily lives of those who bring them to life.
This thesis project aims to rethink the tourism communication strategy of Rome’s 8th Municipality from a contemporary perspective. As a place rich in historical, cultural and social layers, the Municipality has been chosen as a testing ground to explore new ways of telling the area’s story that can enhance its identity and appeal.
The narrative takes the form of an archive publication of around 400 pages, seven thematic booklets, a social media platform, a digital archive and a concept album comprising seven soundtracks created from ambient sounds, samples and interviews with residents. The approach aims to make the tourist experience more engaging and interactive, encouraging a more intuitive and participatory engagement from Roman, national and international audiences.
