A network of centres with the aim of supporting young refugees aged 18-22 in their social reintegration process

With the aim of supporting young refugees between the ages of 18 and 22 in their social reintegration process, the student proposes a network of centres in Spain that offer them accommodation, education, therapy and a varied programme of leisure and sporting activities, for stays of between one and two years.

The first, by way of a pilot project, is Reon refuge, whose design is conceived for an abandoned farmhouse, or masía, in the Catalan town of Tiana. With the capacity to host nine young people and a supervisor, it would include different spaces spread over its three floors, as well as an outdoor area dedicated to horticulture.

Windows and doors would be added to the original façade in order to maximise the amount of exterior light entering the building, and openings would be created in the interior walls to achieve a more natural flow between the spaces.
