Designing private and public spaces - from domestic environments to areas of transit, consumption or service - is not just about defining their form, but about creating a system of interactions between people and the spaces they inhabit.
In the Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design, you will learn to design private and collective spaces starting from the experience of those who live and move within them, interpreting the relationships between individual and space, between community and environment.
Throughout the programme, you will develop a design method that combines a practical, workshop-based approach with theoretical knowledge — from the history of design to cultural anthropology — enabling you to design with a critical and conscious perspective, increasingly essential in a contemporary context where spaces, their functions and our ways of inhabiting them are constantly evolving.
You will learn how to create atmospheres through light, colour, materials and finishes, and deepen your understanding of materials and their applications, gaining awareness of the environmental and social impact of design choices.
You will also learn how to develop and communicate your projects effectively using digital design and visualisation tools, including 3D modelling and rendering, as well as graphic design.
Over the three years, you will acquire the skills to manage every stage of a project, balancing creativity, production and technological sustainability in diverse contexts such as homes, shops, hotels, bars and restaurants, public and transit spaces, workplaces, museums and temporary installations.
Thanks to collaborations with companies and institutions, you will have the opportunity to design based on real briefs; guided by a faculty of professionals, you will explore the many applications of interior design, from architecture to furniture design, from tourism and hospitality to exhibit design, and on to retail, set design and lighting design.
