From 4 December 2025 to 7 January 2026, the Barcelona Creativity and Design Foundation (Fundació BCD), together with the Barcelona City Council’s Directorate of Commerce, Catering and Consumer Affairs, is once again promoting "Christmas Lights Illuminate Commerce". This initiative aims to bring the Christmas lights that fill the city streets to shop windows of local businesses, innovating through lighting design with creative projects that align with the campaign's values: sustainability and environmental responsibility, community and social cohesion, solidarity and inclusion, local culture and tradition, and the circular economy.
Once again this year, two of these proposals are the work of fourth-year Interior Design students from IED Barcelona, mentored by IED Barcelona teacher Claudia Schneider.
· In the Sant Antoni neighbourhood, the La Crema shop will feature the window display “El sonido de la Navidad” by Alexandra Alsina. The opening will be on 2 December at 5:30 pm at Carrer Marquès de Campo Sagrado, 15.
· In the Poble Sec neighbourhood, the Hathor Hair Salon will exhibit “ENTRE LAZOS” by Romilda D’Angelo, opening on 4 December at 5:30 pm (Av. Del Paral·lel, 151).
A committee of experts will decide which is the most innovative window display. In parallel, a popular vote will be held, the final result of which will be announced on 10 January.
