Food Design: Edible Creativity 
Food design is probably one of the most exciting and unknown topics in the design world. It is a creative and technical work process where each of its design phases focuses on the creation and development of a food product, system, or experience

A successful food product isn't just about its flavor; it also plays a role in its communication, visual identity, packaging, and the point-of-sale experience. Incorporating the design process methodology into this sector is increasingly necessary and adds value to products that consumers demand.

About Iván Merino 


Industrial Designer, specializing in food design, lighting, footwear, and furniture
 
Co-founder of Biscuits BCN in 2010, he also has over 20 years of experience in various international academic institutions. At the IED, he teaches in the Máster de Food Design en IED Kunsthal Bilbao. 
A collaborator and speaker at the Basque Culinary Center and workshop manager on projects for Derbi, Mini, and Zara, among others. 
 
His professional recognition includes the Special Mention ADI Fad Medal, the Grandma's Food Design Award, and First Prize in the Granini's Sustainable Award. He also received Special Mention at the Catalonia Recycling Design Awards and the ADI Fad Barcelona Medal
 
He is also the co-author of the book Food Design, the Food Design guide, and has designed projects for L'Oreal, Calvin Klein, Salomon, Fossil, and Carolina Herrera.
