IED Madrid presents Type Design Month, an initiative by the Visual Arts School that, from 7 to 29 May, transforms its Design District campus into a hub for typographic exploration.
The programme brings together designers, studios, and students in a proposal that connects reflection, exhibition, and practice, approaching typography as an evolving discipline.
Among the activities, a highlight is the masterclass by Pascal Zoghbi, a Lebanese designer and lecturer specialising in Arabic typography and multilingual typography, founder of 29LT, which will close the Realities in Transition series on May 7 at 6:30 pm.
After that, there will be the opening of the exhibition of the winning projects from the 71st edition of the international competition Type Directors Club - TDC71 Competition.
In addition, we will be opening an exhibition of the best second-year typography projects from the Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design and Visual Communication.
Type Design Month is conceived as an open platform to experience typography from a contemporary perspective, connecting education with professional practice and contemporary culture.
The opening will take place on Thursday, 7 May, at 7.30 pm on the second floor of the IED Madrid Design District, following Pascal Zoghbi’s masterclass.
