Ana Cristina Lara Sanabria and Camilla Lari Prado, students of the Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design at IED Madrid, have been awarded the Second Prize and the Public Choice Award at the Accor Design Awards 2026 for their project Sense of Dubai.
The Accor Design Awards bring together Interior Design students from around the world to tackle challenges related to hospitality and experiential design.
This year’s brief invited participants to “reimagine a modular and flexible meeting and events space for the iconic Pullman brand, designed to foster a continous cycle of creativity, connection and collaboración".
Among the ten international finalists were two projects developed by IED Madrid students. Ultimately, Sense of Dubai, by students of the Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, by Ana Cristina Lara Sanabria and Camilla Lari Prado, received both the Second Prize and the Public Choice Award, selected through public voting.
The project proposes a sensory journey that translates Dubai’s evolution into a sequence of immersive atmospheres, where history, culture and modernity converge through light, materials and interaction. The proposal invites visitors to experience the city from an emotional and multisensory perspective, placing design at the service of connection between people and their surroundings.
This double international recognition highlights the ability of IED Madrid students to develop innovative proposals that explore new ways of designing experiences and understanding contemporary spaces.
