IED for Forbes Next Leaders: for the month of May, the cover project offers an outlook on the pharma and medtech sectors.

The partnership between IED and Forbes Next Leaders continues in May, a pathway that enhances the creativity of new generations through the development of editorial covers born from real briefs and direct engagement with the world of communication.

IED students and alumni are involved in the design of the covers for Next Leaders magazine, gaining the opportunity to engage with professional dynamics and the languages specific to the contemporary editorial context.

This articulated pathway, issue after issue, guides students in interpreting different themes and sectors, placing at its core the ability to translate complex content into effective and informed visual narratives.
With this new publication, the project reaches its fourth May cover, confirming the value of an educational experience that integrates research, design, and dialogue with real stakeholders, strengthening the connection between education and the cultural industry.

The theme

The fourth instalment is dedicated to the pharma and medtech sector, interpreted as a space of professional opportunity for new generations. It is a complex and highly structured field, in which research, innovation, and scientific rigour define a multifaceted and constantly evolving ecosystem.

The focus shifts from the representation of care to the dimension of knowledge and scientific work, presenting pharma as a system composed of skills, processes, and responsibilities. It is a context in which the role of young professionals is measured against high standards, extended timelines, and structured dynamics, gradually entering into relation with a domain governed by its own logics.

Riccardo Dall’Angelo’s visual concept: Vivere in salute”

The project by Riccardo Dall’Angelo, alumnus of the BAchelor of Arts in Illustration and Animation at IED Milano, translates this scenario into a layered composition: two researchers at work merge with scientific instruments to form the shape of a microscope, evoking the process of observation and knowledge at the foundation of the sector.

The interpretation

The image proposes a vision of the pharma sector that moves away from stereotypical visual representations of healthcare, shifting attention to the language of science, the gesture of research, and the relationship between the individual and the ecosystem. The result is an essential visual narrative, capable of transforming technical elements into a contemporary sign.

The value of the project

The project confirms IED’s role as a space for experimentation and engagement with the professional world, where students are invited to address real contexts by developing design thinking, critical awareness and effective visual languages.
