Laus 2024 IED Barcelona

Date

10 May 2024

The winners will be announced on 12 June during the ADG Laus Night

The ADG Laus Awards, which recognise the best Graphic Design and Visual Communication works across 11 categories each year, have once again selected various projects by IED Barcelona students among the nominees. The awards that promote design, project its cultural and economic importance in society, and support the professional environment, have once again highlighted the creativity, innovation and quality of execution of IED students’ work in this field.

The works shortlisted are:

Final Degree Project, Digital category: “Unwoven memories” by Thinh Truong

A multimedia work that connects the memories of the residents of Colonia Güell —thanks to the use of binary code — and transforms them into a range of creative elements, such as a physical tapestry, an audiovisual projection, a book of memoirs and a new typeface.

Final Degree Project, Audiovisual category: “Noc noc” by Katherine Svoboda

An audiovisual installation that is inspired by acoustics and materials of the past, consolidating the links between architecture, sound and society. The experience believes in the power of sound to unveil the complexity and magic of Gaudí’s crypt, located in Colonia Güell.

Free Work, Branding category: “Olskins” by Maria Terekhova

A minimalist design with bold contrasts of colour combined with photos that help an all-gender underwear brand communicate its commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. It incorporates trends with 3D images that add a sense of modernity.

Free Work, Advertising category: “Mórfosis” by Camila Kotliarsky

A funeral parlour of life that celebrates and helps people going through “little everyday deaths” to overcome them with understanding, resilience and humour, by way of rituals. The aim is to transmute in life and not take it so seriously.

The winners of the ADG Laus 2024 Awards for Graphic Design and Visual Communication will be announced at the ADG Laus Night, during the traditional awards ceremony, which will be held on 12 June at the Disseny Hub in Barcelona.

Best of luck to all!
