FRAME Editor's Pick Award for COLAB by Sancal, a project by IED Madrid alumnus Lucas Muñoz

The FRAME Awards 2025 have given a special mention to COLAB, Sancal's new showroom in Madrid, in the Editors’ Pick category. This recognition, awarded by the editorial team of Frame Magazine, highlights projects that best align with the publication's values: innovation, sustainability and critical thinking in the field of contemporary design.
COLAB is a project led by designer and researcher Lucas Muñoz Muñoz, IED Madrid alumnus, and curated by Esther and Elena Castaño-López.
In addition to this award, the project was shortlisted among the four best in the Best Use of Materials 2025 category and received the highest score in its category.
The aim of the renovation and design of this space was to rethink the uses of the space and extend the life of existing resources, turning the space and the project into a laboratory and workshop for experimentation throughout the renovation process.
Lucas Muñoz studied Product Design and a Master's Degree in Exhibition Design and Management at IED Madrid. Last March, he was awarded the IED Next 30 Design Awards in the Product Design category by the school.
