Starting this year, IED begins a collaboration in the event "Sillas Toulouse 2023", organized by the Toulouse Lautrec School of Creativity and Innovation in Lima - Perú.

“Sillas Toulouse” is a contest and exhibition of the best chair projects designed by students in their last semester of professional careers in Interior Architecture and Product Design and Technological Innovation.
Through this initiative, The Toulouse Lautrec School promotes the "production of those Chairs" that have the power to transform a problem into an innovative solution, with the ability to positively impact our lives and the world. In addition, it seeks to promote collaborative and multidisciplinary work from the academic world.

The award categories are:

  • INNOVATION: The chair that best equitably combines the criteria of materiality, function and aesthetics in a single object will be recognized.
  • SERIOUS CREATIVITY: The chair with purpose will be rewarded, which best responds to a current need in a creative and innovative way.
  • NEW CONCEPTS IN CHAIRS: The best project linked to innovation and disruptive proposals will be recognized.
  • FAVORITE OF THE PUBLIC: All visitors to the exhibition will be able to vote through the virtual platform created by the event.

The renowned interior designer Natalia Zubizarreta, a professor at the IED Kunsthal Bilbao, will be part of the jury along with renowned professionals from the sector in Perú.
The winning projects will have the opportunity to win scholarships for summer programs at the Istituto Europeo di Design, at its different locations in Spain and Italy.
In addition, the winning and finalist projects will be exhibited at emblematic events in Spain, thanks to the alliance between Toulouse Lautrec and the IED and through the "IED LATAM Creative Talent" project, whose objective is to promote and show the world Latin American talent, as well as share a unique, global and transformative vision of design.
