Brut! Madrid, organised by Blanc!, is once again showcasing emerging design, with students from various schools taking part. IED Madrid has two finalist entries that explore editorial research and typographic experimentation
Brut! Madrid, an event organised by Blanc! Festival, will take place on Friday 8 May at La Nave in Villaverde, with a programme designed to showcase new generations of creatives.
Among the presentations featured at the event, IED Madrid will be in the spotlight with two projects representing the school:
Firstly, ABONO 03: Home, a project developed by alumni Alex Boutin, Claudia Campo, Ignacio Carbajosa and María Elena Cadenas. This is the latest edition of a publishing platform run collectively by the students, this time focusing on ‘the home’. The presentation will take place on Friday, 8th May, at 10.40 am.
Another finalist is Gonzalo Muñoz with TypoLAB, a digital platform conceived as a contemporary type foundry. The project curates and showcases typographic design work developed in academic settings, allowing users to discover, try out and download typefaces, as well as gain access to the research and experimentation processes behind each creation. The presentation will take place on Friday, 8th May, at 10.50 am.
Brut! Madrid will bring together projects from six design schools and a selection of ten students, alongside talks by industry professionals. The event, which is free to attend, will take place between 9.00 am and 2.00 pm, establishing itself as a meeting point for education, the creative industries and new approaches to design.
